I know it’s been sooooo long,

Well school, vacation and all but that really won’t be an excuse not to do what I do best......WRITE

Well the title of this write up is “The life wire”

I know right it sounds off... Some would probably be thinking when and why are we discussing physics....... But.... Nah don’t let the title deceive you.

The topic actually came from my principal in high school. He described prayer as the life wire of man.

I chose to write on this topic because it's one that I’ve heard, learnt about and done research on the most this year. 

Okay let’s begin 

What is prayer?

What does it mean to  pray?

Is there a wrong way to pray ?

Am I praying right ?

Well and other questions that can come to your mind whenever you hear the word prayer. 

  

One thing I’ve come to notice is that a lot of people do not understand what prayer is or what it means to pray.

Now I would like to use a machine as a case study to explain this. 

Let’s use a Computer 

A computer comes with its manual and also the cables to connect to peripherals like the central processing unit, mouse and so on. 

For this computer to work , you have to use the manual to know how to assemble the parts in order to achieve the computer, then of course this computer won’t function without these cables being connected rightly. So therefore you can’t use it without the cable or the manual. 

A Christian is created by God. He/she has a manual and cable

How ? 

The manual is the word of God, the Bible. 

The Bible guides the Christian on how his or her creator wants him or her to live, behave etc

But how does this Christian connect to the creator? 

This same manual has directed us on how to connect to the creator and that’s where the cable comes in.... Prayer. 

In other words, prayer is that cable that connects us to God for functioning. 

So this can relate to prayer being the live wire of man.

When it comes to prayer, there's a whole lot to talk about. 

But I will concentrate on the one question that a number of Christians ask themselves the most. 

Why do I pray and I don't get answers?! 

Why does sister A and B pray but only sister A gets answers to her prayers ?

The answer to this question is as simple as it can be.

I have learnt some new things these past weeks but before sharing, let me ask... 

1. Are you praying with the mind of Christ? 

2. What’s the motive for your prayer? 

3. Do you know the word ? 

I will try as much as possible to cover all aspects without making it  bulky

“... Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven... ” 

Most people take prayer as just a means of asking , not communication with their creator. They only pray when they are in need, they only go down on their knees when they are in dire need of something. 

Praying with the mind of Christ simply means praying with the will of God at heart.  

What you're praying for does it align with the will of God?

You are praying for God to give you that car you saw sister Gift driving, You are praying for God to grant you promotion, You are praying for God to grant you admission or give you a spouse 

Motive !!

Let’s simply answer this like this.

If a 2 year old girl asks the dad for a car 

Will the dad grant this request ?

It’s not because he can’t do it , it’s not because there’s no money... No 

but because it isn’t the right time and she's definitely not matured enough to handle it .

He didn’t grant you that promotion because when you get there will you remember to pray now that you have gotten what you asked for?! Do you want to get married.... Maybe yes but are you actually READY for marriage?!?! Are you physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually (and other aspects) ready for marriage and all it entails?! 

Without studying his word How will you know God's will, talk less of praying with the mind of Christ?!?! 

The lord said by his stripes you are healed 

But you don’t know this and you are begging to be healed. He said you are healed not you will be healed. Theresa great difference...... Use his words to pray..... 

For example your dad tells you if you pass a particular form of examination, you would get a new phone. When you want to ask for the phone what will you say ?

Daddy I passed the examination, what about my phone. Isn’t it ? 

But when he didn’t promise a phone will you still ask the same.

.... Definitely not. 

We need to stop taking prayer as a means to just ask. To keep your bond with ur friend you have to keep engaging in conversations.

Okay assuming.... You have all you have ever desired or wanted, will you still pray?!?... I'm pretty sure the answer is no

Pray and do not cease...... we need to cultivate that habit .

There’s no excuse to not being able to pray.

You can’t use time as an excuse because majority of us belivers spend this same time were complaining about on our phones than any other activity talk more of praying. 

Prayer is the live wire of man.

Meaning we have to stay connected if we want to stay alive.

I pray that after reading this we will be able to pray with the mind of Christ and not the mind of the world.
